After much reflection, the AIAri Golf Classic Planning Committee has decided to move forward with this year’s event, albeit with a few changes in light of the current pandemic. We can all agree that now more than ever, it’s tremendously important to connect with your coworkers, friends and peers as we all reinvent the way we live and work in these trying times. What better way to spend a Monday afternoon than out on the links at the historic Agawam Hunt Club to support the AIA Rhode Island Architectural Forum’s mission to provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in Architecture.
New for this year, we’ve taken additional steps to look out for the health and safety of our guests on the day of the tournament.
Changes for 2020 include:
- Lower pricing for foursomes
- Exciting new sponsorship options
COVID-19 related changes:
- Registrants will be required to complete a health attestation form upon arrival at the course.
- Boxed lunches upon arrival at the course
- Additional beverage stations out on the course
- Changes to the post-tournament dinner in accordance with RIDOH guidelines for food service and social distancing.
- Limiting the post-tournament dinner to golfers only. Reluctantly, we will not be selling lawn reception-only tickets this year.
Registration is now open for individual, and group packages, and will fill up fast – the tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 14th, 2020.
If you or your organization are interested in sponsoring a portion of the event, an assortment of options are available; offering great visibility and recognition at registration, out on the course, the 19th hole or all three.
Don’t golf? No problem. The Planning Committee is actively recruiting volunteers to help staff the event and assist with day-of registration, coordination and oversight during the tournament. Give us a call to discuss how you can help.
We hope to see you there on Monday, September 14th! REGISTER
In 1998, the AIA-RI Golf Classic was conceived with the vision of providing a source of scholarship funding for Rhode Island students pursuing a career in architecture. With the escalating cost of a higher education, this event has been a valuable and necessary avenue to assist students with their education. The AIA-RI Golf Classic has raised close to $300,000 since its inception, and because of your support, it has helped many students. We thank you for that and are appreciative of the commitment you have made to the next generation of architects.
While the AIA-RI Golf Classic is always an enjoyable day of golf, the real enjoyment is seeing the students with their families and their appreciation of how we have supported their education. Please consider participating and/or sponsoring our efforts with this event.
